Tariff
A standard charge for use
of copyrighted works. Usually applies to fees paid
by users of musical works and cable companies for
the rebroadcast of programs.
Trademark
A word, symbol or design,
or combination of these, used to distinguish the
goods or services of one party from those of
another.
Trade secret
Information, including a formula, pattern,
compilation, program device, method, technique, or
process, that: (i) derives independent economic
value, actual or potential, from no being generally
known to, and not being readily ascertainable by
proper means by, other persons who can obtain
economic value from its disclosure or use, and (ii)
is the subject of efforts that are reasonable under
the circumstances to maintain its secrecy.
Trademark agent
A trademark agent is a
person in a country other than the United States
whose name is entered on the list of trademark
agents and who is therefore entitled to practice
before the respective Trademark Office.

Federal legislation
governing trade-mark in the United States, its
possessions, and its territories.
Trademark Office
The federal agency
responsible for registering trademarks in the United
States.
Trademark records
The inventory of
registered trademarks
and pending
applications
maintained by the Trademark Office.
Trademarks register
The official listing of
registered trademarks.
Trade name
The name under which a
company chooses to operate. Trade names may or may
not be considered
trademarks,
depending on the circumstances.
